The things we do for love
Chapter 3: Grim surprise
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Alfred sighed as he got out of his car. The Allies meeting hadn't gone the way he had hoped. No one had agreed with his plan to deal with the Axis, and they spent most of the time arguing and breaking up fights between Arthur and Francis. 'I wonder how we ever get anything done.' He though as he walked up the path that lead from the drive way to the front of the house. Glancing up he noticed that the light in the living room was still on. He couldn't help but smile.
"Aww! (name) waited up for me!" he said climbing on the porch. "That's so…wait a second…" his eyes fell on the door and he stopped in his tracks. The door was hanging off its hinges. He frowned looking at the door. Something wasn't right here. Cautiously, he stepped through the door. The living room was all messed up. Someone had flipped the coffee table on its side and move the couch. 'What in the world happened here?' he thought looking around the room. 'Where's (name)?'
"(n-name)?" he called. "I-is…is this a joke? Haha very funny." There was silence. "Umm…(name)? Jokes up. You can come out now." Still silence. "(name)?!" he called again a note of worry in his voice. He dashed thorough the house calling (name's) name over and over again, but each time was met only with silence.
Returning to the living room, Alfred was forced to face the fact the (name) was gone. 'Gone where though?' he wondered rubbing the back of his head. He had a bad feeling about what had happened. His eyes fell on the flipped coffee table. 'Signs of a struggle?' he scanned the room for any more clues as to what had happened. There was something small on the floor next to the door. Alfred bent down and picked it. It was a piece of spaghetti. 'What the…' He couldn't remember having spaghetti in a long time, and anyway, why would it be out here in the living room? Somebody else had been here. His eyes narrowed.
"Feliciano…it has to be. Why else would there be pasta on the floor?" He said clenching his hands into fists. "But…he's to cowardly to do something like this…that must means that Ludwig or Kiku probably did this. Or all three of them had something to do with this…" He stomped over to the phone. "Damn the Axis! If those bastards hurt her, I-I don't even know what I'd do." He said darkly dialing a number into the phone. He drummed his fingers on the wall waiting for the other line to pick up.
"Hello?" The other end said.
"Arthur?" Alfred said. Arthur sighed into the other receiver.
"Alfred…what do you want?" he asked.
"You and Francis did that spying thing on Ludwig, Feliciano, and Kiku right?" Alfred asked.
"Idiot! If you paid attention during our meeting, you would know that we did!" Arthur snapped.
"Don't lecture me right now Arthur, did you find out where their secret meeting place was?" Alfred asked coldly. Arthur was quiet for a moment confused by the lack cockiness of cheerfulness that filled Alfred's words. They had been replaced by a cold fury that he had heard so rarely.
"Umm… Yes we did. ... Is everything okay Alfred?" Arthur asked. Alfred sighed and slid down the wall to a sitting position.
"They took her." He said shortly. His voice broke. This was a nightmare, his worst nightmare. He had been fearing something like this happening for a while now, that's why he had been so reluctant to leave her alone, and tried so hard to convince her to join the Allies. 'I swore to protect her… and I failed…' he thought hitting the back of his head on the wall.
"Who took who? Be specific man!" Arthur said.
"The Axis damn it! The Axis took (name)!" Alfred shouted. There was silence for a moment.
"…bloody hell." Arthur said sounding shocked. "Are you sure?"
"Positive…" he said rubbing his face with his free hand "I'm gonna get her back though."
"Whoa hang on a minute!" Arthur said alarmed. "You can't go charging in there willy-nelly. You'll get yourself killed!"
"I'm the hero! I'll do all the charging I want!" Alfred said defensively. "Besides, I can't just leave her there. I can't bear to think of what they're gonna do to her." He shuttered at the thought of the Axis hurting (name).
"Right…then what do you propose we do?" Arthur asked. Alfred grinned.
"I have a plan, but…I'll need your help."

Surprise!!
"Bye!!" You call out to a fellow co-worker as you leave your new workplace, a small diner. It's dark out but you're tired so you decide to take a short cut home, through an old ally. You're halfway down, when you feel a hand cover your mouth, which muffles the scream you let out. Then, you feel a piece of fabric being put over your now wide *insert eye color* eyes. You try screaming again but it's no use, so you just struggle. The stranger which has now grabbed your arm, drags you with them. You hear a car door open, and before you know it you are thrown onto something. The back seat of a car, you infer. The sound

You knocked on Matthew's door somewhat timidly, shivering from getting drenched in the cold rain. Slightly nervous, you played out the chances of Alfred opening the door out in your mind.
There's a chance
of about 50%, if he does stay here. Maybe he stays somewhere else, you know. Maybe...yeah! Hopefully he-
The door opened and there stood Alfred, munching on something. He momentarily stopped chewing, and his face broke into a smile, as he recognised you.
"[Name]! Nice to see you!"
You smiled in return.
"Whatcha doing here?"

"Mommy! Mommy! What's happening?!"
"Nothing dear, it's okay." Mother said calmly, but I could see the fear behind her eyes. I could even hear the screams of anguish and smell the houses burning to the ground. Nothing was okay.
"Why don't we play a game, _________?" A game at a time like this?
"Um...okay?" I wanted her to feel like I was oblivious to what was going on around me so she didn't worry.
"Great!" She cheered with a forced smile on her face. "How about you go hide, while I count to thirty. After I reach thirty, I'll come and find you, but make sure you don't come out unti
