     "Bored…bored…bored…" you muttered to yourself as you wandered through your house. "Why isn't there ever anything to do around here?" You checked your phone to see if any of your friends had texted you…and no one had. You sighed and stuck your phone back in your pocket, and continued your pacing through the house. You passed by a large window and paused looking outside. The sky was a bright clear blue. The fresh colors of all the newly blooming plants seemed to beckon to you. You bolted for the door and went outside.
     "Why am I inside on a day like this?" you asked yourself. A cool spring breeze caressed you face bringing with it the scent of flowers and grass. You smiled thinking that a walk sounded nice, even though you weren't wearing any shoos. The concrete of the sidewalk felt warm beneath your bare feet. You passed a wide open field. Off in the distance there was a cherry tree. It was just starting to bloom, its braches covered with soft pink little flowers. You smiled. That tree had a lot of fond memories for you. It was one of the first places you found when you mover to (wherever you want this to be) so many years ago. It was also where you met your best friend, Kiku Honda. He was the sweetest person you had ever met. You smiled and ran across the grass over to the tree flopping in the grass under the tree. The fresh green grass was so soft, and smelled so sweet. You closed your eyes, loving the spring day. A breeze swept through the field, rippling through the cherry blossoms in the tree.
     "(name)-san?" A familiar sweet voice called. You sat up and looked around. Kiku was stand not too far from you, his soft brown eyes looking at you. You felt your face light up just by seeing him.
     "Good morning Kiku!" you said to him. A soft smile spread across his face.
     "Kon'nichiwa (name)-san. What are you doing out here?"* He asked sitting in the grass next to you.
     "Just enjoying this lovely spring day." You said. "You?"
     "I just came out to see the cherry blossoms." He said looking up into the tree. You looked up as well.
     "They're beautiful." You said. He nodded.
     "Hai, I agree."* You both looked at each other and smiled before looking away again. You sat in a comfortable silence for a while, enjoying the spring day. After a while, Kiku chuckled.
     "What?" you asked looking at him.
     "You have a flower in your hair." He said pointing. The breeze had knocked one of the blossoms from the tree and it had landed in your hair without you knowing.
     "Oh…" you said reaching up a hand to brush the blossom from your hair. Kiku gently grabbed your hand. You gave him a confused look.
     "No don't, it looks nice. You look really pretty with it in your hair. I-I mean, not that you're not pretty all the time, it's just that…umm… never mind." He said dropping your hand and looking away blushing, the pink in his cheeks clashing with his black hair. He looked even cuter then he normally did when he was flustered like this. You gently placed your hand on his and gave it a little squeeze. He jumped a bit and looked at you.
     "If you think it looks good, I'll leave it." You said giving him a sweet smile. He smiled at you.
     "I meant it." He said shyly.
     "Meant what?" you asked.
     "That you're pretty..." he muttered. You were too shocked to speak. 'My best friend thinks I'm pretty?' You thought. He was shaking his head, and you frowned slightly.
     "No, no…pretty doesn't quite cover it. You're beautiful (name)-san." He said. You felt your face flush. He hesitantly wrapped his arm over your shoulders and pulled you a little closer to him
     "I know we've been friends for a long time, but…I was wondering if maybe…maybe you'd want to be more than that?" He asked nervously not meeting your eyes. You blinked trying to comprehend what he just said. Of course you loved your Japanese friend, you had from the moment you met him all those years ago. You never thought that he saw you as more than a friend, but apparently he did. Your heart was fluttering in your chest, and you decided to let it do the talking. You leaned over and gently kissed Kiku on the cheek. He turned his gaze to you, his chocolate brown eyes looking into you (color) ones. You smiled at him again.
     "Of course I would love to be more then friends Kiku." You said sweetly. His face lit up.
     "R-really?" he asked. You nodded. A true smile played across his face. You had never seen him smile like this before. He usually kept his emotions pretty low key. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to ask you that (name)-san." He said gently caressing your cheek.
     "Well I'm glad you did." You giggled.

     "Hey, (name)-san!" Kiku called walking over to you. You had been dating him for a while now, and you had to admit, this was the happiest you had been in a long time. He was just perfect in every way possible. You smiled warmly at him.
     "Hi Kiku."
     "I got you something." He said pressing a small white box with a pink bow on it into your hands. You looked at it confused. It wasn't your birthday or anything; you weren't sure why he was giving you a gift.
     "What's this for?" you asked.
     "Just open it!" he begged. You lifted the lid of the box and looked inside. A hair clip in the shape of a cherry blossom was inside the box. It looked just like the one that had landed in your hair weeks ago. You looked at it for a moment, then looked up at Kiku.
     "You shouldn't have…this is so sweet." You said.
     "Don't be silly." He said taking the clip from the box and sliding it into your (color) hair. He cupped your face in his hands. "Nothings too sweet for my beautiful cherry blossom." He said pulling you in for a sweet and tender kiss.
